BSP supremo Mayawati has directed party functionaries to go on a door-to-door campaign to ensure the party's success in the coming Lok Sabha polls, party sources said. The BSP leader is reported to have worked out her party's poll campaign down to the minutest details. The message to key workers is loud and clear - "to see Behenji ride on to the power pedestal in New Delhi
". She has mobilized her cadres in caste-groups, with well-defined and clearly demarcated areas of operation. Workers have been campaigning for the party in their respective locales. The Dalit-Brahmin 'bhai-chara' (friendship) committees that were put in place by her party's Brahmin mascot Satish Chandra Misra and are believed to have propelled her party to power in the state, have been activated. None in the party has been authorized to give interviews to the media. However, a senior minister told IANS on condition of anonymity, "Behenji's stress is on going door-to-door." Every constituency level and district coordinator has been directed to stick to their respective headquarters under all circumstance until the end of the Lok Sabha elections. "You must forget about all your personal matters and devote all your energies to the poll campaign which is most crucial for us," Mayawati is reported to be telling batches of coordinators who are being called in groups to take down her explicit directions for the campaign. According to sources close to her, Mayawati has been single
-handedly concentrating on establishing a fool-proof network of her party right down to the block level. "Everything has been planned and monitored directly by her and the chain of command is also clearly laid out with no scope for any deviations," a senior ruling party leader said.
